Performing "Sado" with Paloma Negra, Sydney Fetish Ball!

Hi A/all!

LONG TIME NO BLOG!

Most certainly, I've been so busy with sessions, performances, studio building, party holding, and uni that I've not been blogging here!Phew. Heck, Imma tired WRITING THAT!

Luckily, all the things I've been doing got shot and now here's the evidence of My indiscretions away from blogging!

The first thing you need to see, is the AMAZING shots from My performance with Paloma Negra from Paloma Negra Theatre at the Sydney Fetish Ball!

We performed our now-signature show "Sado" - a hybrid double on the static trapeze with shibari and latex thrown in!

We first performed this at Sexpo back in 2016, 17 in both Melbourne and Sydney - so it was great to bring a show we both LOVE to The Universal in Oxford Street!

Check the shots!!!

Our next performance will be next week at OZ KINK FEST!

We love performing our work there, and always have a new show for the Hellfire Resurrection party on the Friday night! (Yes, there WILL be shots!!)

In the meantime, enjoy these images and I'll be blogging again very soon as I'm intending to offer sessions in Melbourne, so get ready for that!

Best, at height or on the ground!

Shots of My Show "Sado" at Sydney Sexpo

Hi A/all!

As promised - photos from My HUGE show at Sydney Sexpo 2018!

Yes, there are many shots - but please bear with Me - as there were SO MANY moments to catch, and SO MUCH beauty in literally the BEST show I've ever done!

Please scroll down and enjoy Myself and My amazing co-performer, Paloma Negra from Paloma Negra Theatre, doing our thing on our custom made trapze rig at 10m high!

We won't get too many chances to perform on another rig like this so we really wanted as much capture as possible!

So many venues in Sydney and Melbourne are not high enough. For example, just today we were working out how to bring this to Oz Kink Fest in Melbourne in September, but hung from a 4000mm high tri-truss! (Wish us luck!)

It was the most challenging show for Me yet because I've not done much aerial work before, forget just simply being on the end of the ropes!

As you can imagine, I've mainly been the person DOING the tying - as opposed to receiving rope.

It was a great seachange.

Additionally, I'd offered to Paloma many moons ago that I'd love to teach her a little of bondage, so that she could tie Me in a show.

She's also been slowly grooming Me with more and more aerials content in our progressive shows...

THIS in itself is truly an ARTISTIC BENCHMARK.

Normatively in shibari performance across the world, you'd expect a rigger to tie a rope bottom.

In "Sado" not only do you have a bottom being tied, but also tying rope themself - AND tying the rigger! (PS. I'd NEVER call Paloma a bottom!!)

We wished to created this sense of mirroring in our actions, but also in debunking the traditional role of Top and bottom in BDSM, challenging female roles as bottoms, while creating a technical watershed of a performance.

THIS is what I'm excited about.

Paloma and I wanted to create images that looked like we were mirroring each other, both in action and in attention.

We wanted a sense of connection and intimacy - even if we were at opposite ends of the apparatus.

We wanted the performance overall to look stylish and have a certain elan, while still showing our raw passion for what we do.

I'm REALLY proud to say that we both feel we've achieved all these things.

It was Paloma's idea to use a costume I'd recently designed and worn for another event, and it just looked fabulous.

The strong black calligraphic mark strikes against our pale skin, covered only in transparent latex! Paired with our similar distinctive hairstyles, we really do make a distinctive performing couple!

Final thanks must go to our amazing photographer, Roberto Duran!

He shot these beautiful images and we are so very lucky (and privileged) to be able to benefit from his exceptional skill and talent!

THANKS YET AGAIN, ROBERTO!

We'll perform "Sado" again at Oz Kink Fest in Melbourne in September, and then we'll look for any opportunity to show it again around Australia - or maybe even further afield!

If you can get to Hellfire Resurrection on Sept 21, please come to see our show and the wonderful aerial X shibari show that we've created!

Best,

MT

Life Drawing at Art Gallery NSW "Art After Hours" for Mardi Gras

Hi A/all!

I've been so busy over Mardi Gras and My tour of Melbourne I've not even had spare time to blog!

I do beg your pardon. 5 shows in 1.5 weeks over 2 states while balancing sessions, flights, 4 successful public workshops, building a studio AND circadian rhythms? Hell yes, I'm your perp!!

LET'S WRAP IT UP, like pallet wrap:

A truly wonderful thing I was asked to do for the Sydney Mardi Gras festival was to host Life Drawing for the Queer Edition for the regularly fabulous Wednesday night "Art After Hours" night at the Art Gallery of New South Wales.

Just stand there and look shiny? Not on My watch - not with the fabulous Paloma Negra from Paloma Negra Theatre in tow either, we STOOD and SHONE up a storm!

Some of the shots below are from the wonderful attendees, including some drawings!

We had 40 easels and drawing boards around us. I said to Paloma that "If we could cause enough ruckus to fill 60% of those for MOST of the 2 hour slot, I'd be content."

Talk about content. Turns out, WE MADE GREAT CONTENT! lol

At one point, people were sooooooooo stuffed into the room, people couldn't get in - or out. Such was the jam, such was the unanimous response.

Thanks Sydney, and a HUGE thank you to the Art Galley of NSW for having Me back AGAIN in conjunction with the incredibly popular Robert Mapplethorpe exhibition.

As shot on the day, below! Enjoy!

Best, as art...

Paloma and I in our final drawing tableau - she in My inflatable BALL gown, Me drawing rope out of the zipper in her inflatable loveliness!

Us in our first tableau with Me doing the rope bondage, natch...

...to our third tableau - which we called Clean Qween!

As I stood there to be drawn, I called out, "Spot the Feminist".

Thankfully, people appreciated My black humour!

Our second tableau was sure to be a crowd pleaser.

My beautiful uchikake (Japanese wedding kimono) with some asymmetrical tying and some take (bamboo) looked bloody amazing even if I say so Myself.

Photos from Oz Kink Fest Show

Hi A/all!

Yes!! Another AMAZING show was up in lights at Oz Kink Fest in Melbourne on Sept 22 at the big Friday night club party Hellfire Resurrection!

My wonderful co performer Paloma Negra from Paloma Negra Theatre and I took our audience on a journey with shades of contemporary dance, butoh, My customary heavily hacked shibari, latex and shoe fetish!

No 50 Shades of Grey here! lol

I love crafting shows like you've never seen before.

I find SO MUCH Shibari rope bondage show boring, but not Mine.

You NEVER know what you'll see when I take the stage!

We used normal 6mm jute rope... But then when Paloma had the watershed idea of suspension using HEAVY THICK hemp, we just went with it!

I really had a revelation during our show about our prowess together.

Paloma is really a "co-performer" and creative co-conspirator, not a "rope bunny" or a "bottom".

One other thing she is, is THE BOMB.

Thanks Paloma - and thanks SO MUCH to Oz Kink Fest for having us back another year!

Best, up in lights again!
